The Laboratory of Psychophysiology was founded in 1970 by prof.
Konorski who put much attention to study human brain and to make some
inferences from the animal data to the human brain function. For many
years the main topic investigated in this lab has been hemispheric
asymmetry. In our current study we investigate the role of
interhemispheric cooperatin in the development of brain lateralisation
rather than hemispheric differences per se. The investigation focuses
also on neural architecture of memory and prosodic functions as well as
on neural basis of some disorders e.g. developmental dyslexia. We are
especially interested in the effect of sex and handedness on brain
organisation. We use various methods such as tachistoscopic presentation
method, investigation of the effects of brain lesions,
electrophysiological methods and fMRI.
